this tutorial was written for newbies, so i'll try to explain everything in details.
if u found something that is not explained well, thats cuz i'm a newbie myself!
BTW...this is probably the shortest tutorial i have ever written! thats because its damn easy!!! and it took me like 1 and a half minute to find the code...so if u cant find the code...there could be 2 reasons: 1. u r fuckin stupid! 2. this is the first tut u read about cracking ;)
so if one of those reasons is the case...start reading ;)
ok...first thing to do is open the crackme and read the instructions...finished? good ;)
it tells u that the only way to find the code is with W32DASM...can u tell what does it means? i can;)
it means that the serial is hardcoded(written in plain text)...if the serial is hardcoded then the job gets easier for us =)
if u want u can enter a bogus code and try...but its not necessary coz we are not going to patch it.
as u might have guessed the next thing to do is to open W32DASM and disassemble the file.
after disassembling go to the string data reference (the button next to the print button).
now its time to use our brain...if its hardcoded and it is, u can find the code in the string data reference...but as u can see there is no number at the string data reference...so the code is in probably a word or some letters.
now after i saw there is no number i looked for something suspicious like a message that says we did it or something...and i found two things: 1. a smiley like this ";-)" 2. a line that says: "Sometimes, the wrong code can"
Ok...u can double click on one of them...or u can try to see whats in both of them...and u'll realize that they r at the same place.....after u clicked on "sometimes, the wrong code can" u can see the whole text which says: "Sometimes, the wrong code can be the good code" that line made me laugh...coz right here i found the code...u can scroll down from that line to get to the line that says: "Wrong code" also if u scroll up u will see that line... have u figured out what is the code? thats right! the code is "Wrong code"
